2024 Fire Academy

Our department is proud to be able to offer in-house fire academies for our firefighters and nearby departments. Fire recruits normally meet twice a week for classroom hours and complete skills, live burns, and testing on separate days. Our 2024 Fire Academy had 14 firefighters representing Central Sabine, North Sabine, South Sabine, Desoto Fire District 8, New Llano, and Sandy Creek Fire Department. These recruits were eligible to take the HazMat Awareness, HazMat Operations, Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, and CPR/AED certification tests.

This hybrid schedule allows our recruits to maintain a full time job and work towards becoming certified firefighters.  We would like to thank North Sabine Fire for allowing our department to use their training facility for our live burns.
